Zero Day Review: Dell Precision Workstation M90
by Charlie White
The Dell Precision Mobile Workstation M90 (starting at $2239) raises the bar for the company's highest-end notebook PCs, adding Intel Core Duo processors to the mix along with a 7200RPM hard drive, workstation-class OpenGL graphics and enough room for 4GB of RAM. Making the product even more appealing is its 17-inch WUXGA screen with a pixel count of 1920x1200, and its upgraded styling that puts it into a whole new class of notebooks. We put the 8.6-pound laptop through a battery of tests, running our real-world benchmarks and comparing it to its predecessors and competitors.

OWC Mercury On-the-Go High Speed Portable Storage
by Charlie White
The Other World Computing (OWC) Mercury On-the-Go High Speed Portable Storage Solution is an attractive acrylic enclosure containing an Hitachi Travelstar 2.5-inch hard disk in capacities from 40GB to 160GB. If that's not enough disk space enough for you, the company offers the case and electronics only ($75), letting you provide your own 2.5-inch hard disk up to 500GB. For my evaluation, I used the 100GB FireWire 800/USB 2.0 model ($290). I took the unit out on the road and also onto our test bench, trying out both the FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 interfaces.

by Charlie White
The Mitsubishi XD-460U ($1750) is a 1024x768 XGA projector that's marketed to the presentation crowd. It has a Texas Instruments Dark Chip 3 DLP processor inside and claims 2600 ANSI lumens. Although it couldn't be called a miniature projector, at 6.5 pounds it's certainly no heavier than an average laptop and is easily luggable. At first glance, it's an appealing package that will work well for business presenters. Let's take the projector into our test theater and see what it can do.

The Texas Instruments LEDs are integrated and extruded right into the plastic wrist strap -- these are some wild-looking watches, and I want one. The Starck Fossil watch is available in black, gray, orange and now the newest one is white. They're all gorgeous.
