You might notice that our logo looks quite a bit different this week from last week. That's because we got into a little bit of a legal problem with the Coca-Cola Corporation.

You've probably noticed that our logo used to look a whole lot like the most famous logo in the world, that of Coca-Cola. Yeah, it was my idea to make our logo with that certain typeface that's called Spencerian script. Actually, when I created that logo in Photoshop, I didn't use that typeface, but I used one called Loki-cola.
But the attorney for Coca-Cola sent registered letters to each of us, telling us that our logo "derived its power" from that famous Coca-Cola trademark, and asked us to immediately cease and desist using it.
Well, if we were really gutsy and foolish, we would refuse to change it, but we're not foolish, we might be gutsy, but there is case law establishing a precedent that you can't use that typeface along with those colors. Someone already tried that with the word "cocaine" back in the 70s, if you recall -- looked just like the Coca-Cola trademark but used the word "cocaine" instead.
Anyway, we quickly redesigned our logo in colors that remind me of springtime, in warm yellow colors, and we hope you like it. Sorry, Coca-Cola. Didn't mean to step on your big hundred year-old toes. I'll still drink your drinks. However, I must say, I am partial to Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper. It has an odd taste, but it's wonderful, has no calories, and isn't made by the Coca-Cola Company.
