I’ve been quite down for the last couple of months. I wouldn’t classify it is depression, but rather this dread that my life is not going the way I thought it would be at 43. I’m making some big changes in 2014, and it also has me scared to death that I will fail utterly. I don’t want to fail. I want to succeed in making my life, and those that I touch (not in a creepy way) better in some way.
I was told by a wise person that if you put something out into the universe, and you are sincere, the universe has a way of helping you. With that in mind, here are the ten things I want from the universe in 2014.
- I want to be a better father to my kids.
- I want to be closer to my wife and be a better husband.
- I want to be financially secure, free of debt, and not have to worry about money. If that means winning the lottery or having my business earn 10 times more than it did last year, so be it.
- I want to be a better person than I was a year ago. In other words, I want to not be as much of a dick or a jerk wad as I have been.
- I want to take Major Spoilers to the next level and make it an astonishing success.
- I want to be able to contribute more to the running of the home.
- I want to have a positive impact in someone’s life.
- I want to lose 100 pounds, eat better, and exercise.
These things have true meaning to me, and are not some trifle or a gimme, gimme. Universe, are you listening?
I need to take things to the next level, and fortunately, I have a number of people willing to help me. I’m thankful for that, and it has taught me a wonderful new lesson on doing things for free in order to benefit down the road.
Thanks for giving me some homework to do. When it was suggested the website needed to be changed, I didn’t think much of it, except “yeah, yeah… one more thing to do.” But then I stopped to think about that – I have been needing to update the site for some time, and in order to do that, I’m going to have to spend some time sacrificing other things (writing, family, etc.) to make that happen.
I’m pulling the trigger on the site change with a few additional items in the coming months. I’ll let you know how it goes through this site… Who knows, maybe I’ll even update this site in the near future, too.
A lot of crazy rambling here… that’s what I get for doing this late at night and after a few beers… It will all make sense toward the end of the year.
And then the clock starts ticking toward something bigger.
He knows when you are sleeping…
Just a little longer, I promise
Still trying to find time to get everything worked out here. Next week for sure everything will be back in tip top shape.
Hey everyone, I’m going to overhaul the site over the next couple of days, so please be patient as I backfill the site, and redo the CSS! There are a lot of updates that have happened over the last month or so, that you will want to come back for!

Blending CG text with the real world
As a compositing wizard, you may be asked to blend a CG element onto a real world surface. Transfer Modes and Opacity changes will only take you so far before you reach the end of their limit. In this After Effects Production Bundle Tutorial, we ?ll take an image and composite it believable on top of a rusted piece of metal.
