My wife bought me a MakerBot Replicator 2 for Father’s Day (I get to play with it early because the box it came in said MakerBot on the outside). Tonight, while I run through a print or two, I thought I’d grab the camera and see what I could come up with.
The last time I did a Pic A Day was in 2012, and truth be told, though I take a lot of pictures, I haven’t focused on the craft of taking those pictures. My goal for the rest of June is to take a share a photo, give some background on the picture that was taken, and improve my skills.
Today, it is a food pic.
It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, but it has also been quite a while since I’ve been able to get out and actually do something besides sit behind a desk, a slave to the Robot Overlords of the world.

Canon has announced the upcoming release of the Canon 5D Mark III the successor to the ever popular 5D Mark II that many film and television crews love to use. I have two 5D Mark IIs, will today’s announcement prompt me to go on a selling spree to get the Mark III?
Worked the regional RMAC wrestling tournament this past weekend.
Today, Adobe Systems announced the open beta release of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 (no, I’m not going to put all the registered trademark logos all over the place). If you have an Adobe Labs account, you can download the beta, test it, play with it, and use it until March 2012.
I was in the dentist’s office this week and saw the light coming through this frosted glass window, and simply love how the soft light fills this corner of the room. I like looking at natural light and figuring out ways to duplicate this in the studio.
I love timelapse photography, and I love pictures of the night sky. Earlier in 2011, I had attempted some night time work that didn’t turn out very well. I’ve been doing some reading, video watching, and consulting, and finally went out on a very cold night to see if I could do a better job than the last time.
I love taking panorama shots, and I have a great App on the iPhone that allows the user to take and make a quick panoramic shot.
