Adobe has announced the new feature set for Adobe After Effects CC 2017 (November 2016 release). This release is the first time in a long time where I didn’t participate in the Adobe Pre-Release program, so all of the new features and announcements are fresh for me too!
MAXON today announced a new update to Cineware (3.0) for the latest version of Adobe® After Effects® CC, a key component of Adobe Creative Cloud®. The Cineware Live 3D pipeline first introduced in After Effects CC offers improved workflow and greater performance. OpenGL rendering is now available within the Cineware effect, providing increased speed and higher quality results than the software render option. Users can now choose to automatically sync the After Effects and Cinema 4D time sliders. The new Cinema 4D Take System, introduced in R17, the latest Cinema 4D release, is also supported: After Effects artists can now choose to render specific Takes in a Cinema 4D project file.
If you saw the entire WWDC 2015 presentation, you probably heard that Adobe is committed to bringing Metal to all of its applications. What does that mean for After Effects users? It means speed, dammit, SPEED!
Apple says that the new Metal API will offer up 8X the rendering speed, which is great. I just hope it doesn’t also mean I will need to get a Mac Pro to do it, as I’m kinda poor right now. Still, if this works seamlessly on my iMac, then a lot of the post work I’ve been doing on the Major Spoilers Video YouTube channel is going to be a breeze.
I’ll find out more, and see exactly how well it performs when everything is released.
MAXON, the leading developer of professional 3D modeling, painting, animation and rendering solutions, today announced MAXON Cineware 2.0 and Cinema 4D Lite Release 16, now available in the latest version of Adobe After Effects CC (2014.1) . The upgrades symbolize the ongoing strategic relationship between MAXON and Adobe to deliver improved integration and performance between MAXON’s powerful 3D application, Cinema 4D, and Adobe’s industry-leading software. The new updates to the Cineware workflow, available in the Fall release of After Effects CC 2014, are designed to optimize performance and enhance creative capabilities.

I was up late last night recording this, and there are a few times I totally say one word, when I mean another… duhr.
Make sure you watch this full size at 1080p!
I really like this mock-commercial, and it does a great job of pointing out how false advertising (skinny sexy models) alter our perception of body image and what is beautiful in society.
Today, Adobe Systems announced the open beta release of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 (no, I’m not going to put all the registered trademark logos all over the place). If you have an Adobe Labs account, you can download the beta, test it, play with it, and use it until March 2012.
