Car Mounting Made Easy with CineSquid

A while ago I contributed to the CineSkates Kickstarter campaign, and have been thoroughly pleased with what Justin Jensen delivered.  The low profile dolly system works really well, and the number of angles that can be captured thanks to the GorillaPod legs is a brilliant move.

Now Cinetics have announced a brand new product – CineSquid that allows you to mount your DSLR or small vidcam to a moving vehicle.

This is a ready-to-go CineSquid™ system for use with any camera with a standard tripod mount that weighs less than 5 pounds. It includes CineSquid™, a case, a GorillaPod Focus tripod, and BallHead Xcamera mount. The first 100 CineSquid orders will receive early shipping in March. The next wave of orders will begin shipping in late April in the order that they are received.

Expanding on the unique Cinetics Connect platform, developed to make CineSkates possible, the new CineSquid system combines powerful suction cup technology with the flexible GorillaPod Focus™ Tripod and BallHead X™ to create a portable and modular system that filmmakers can take anywhere. Different from other suction cup mounts on the market, the flexible tripod attaches to contoured, multi-level surfaces, and users can even manipulate the camera frame once the suction cups are mounted. The triple suction cup design ensures CineSquid will not lose its grip.

It’s a little bit pricey, but compared to a similar system offered by StickyPod, this might be a perfect item to pick up.

About Stephen Schleicher

Stephen Schleicher is one of those guys that has always loved comics but never got into them until really late in life - like high school in the 80s. He just missed the Crisis on Infinite Earths, but has been around for every major crossover since. Stephen knows his way around video and film production having been a director, producer, editor, and motion graphics artist for projects ranging from small promotional pieces for Wachovia all the way up to regional videos for the Division of Emergency Management. As a prolific writer, Stephen began his career writing for the Digital Media Online community of sites, including Digital Producer and Creative Mac covering all aspects of the digital content creation industry. He then moved on to consumer technology, and began the Coolness Roundup podcast. A writing fool, Stephen also freelances for the Sci-Fi Channel's Technology Blog. When not writing, Stephen shares his knowledge as a tenured faculty member at Fort Hays State University. Still longing for the good ol' days, Stephen launched Major Spoilers in July 2006, because he is a glutton for punishment.
