CINTIQ 24HD Touch from Wacom

While I don’t have the artistic skills that many have, I can’t help but want a Cintiq 24HD Touch for nothing more than working in Adobe After Effects (masking), and LightWave 3D (modeling).

I’ve used Wacom tablets for years, but it has always been a weird feeling trying to draw or mask while not looking at area I’m drawing on. Add in the touch aspect of the Cintiq 24HD Touch, and I think this is the solution for me.

Now I only need $3,699.00.

Anyone want to donate the funds or send me one of these?

Car Mounting Made Easy with CineSquid

A while ago I contributed to the CineSkates Kickstarter campaign, and have been thoroughly pleased with what Justin Jensen delivered.  The low profile dolly system works really well, and the number of angles that can be captured thanks to the GorillaPod legs is a brilliant move.

Now Cinetics have announced a brand new product – CineSquid that allows you to mount your DSLR or small vidcam to a moving vehicle.

EXPERIMENT: City Tour (looping footage)

It was such a nice day on Saturday, that my son and I went out to have some fun with my GoPro HD camera.  If you haven’t heard of, or seen, one of these cameras, it is a super small, and lightweight camera that is designed to attached to helmets, bikes, motorcycles, skateboards, and anything else you can think of.

Designed for extreme sport coverage, these little camera’s pack quite a punch when it comes to capturing intense action in high definition.  That’s right, this camera captures HD!  So what did we do with it? Attached it to the front of the car, and took a little trip.

TEST FLIGHT: The AR.Drone and the GoPro HERO HD

For whatever reason, I decided to break down and purchase the AR.Drone.  Well, it wasn’t really just any reason, I actually liked the fact that it is a fairly inexpensive quad-copter that you can attach a small camera to, and capture HD footage.

One of the most popular stock footage shots on the site happens to be the wheat field video, that filmmakers and commercial producers have been using in their projects.  I was hoping to follow up on that shot this summer/fall during harvest by doing a flyover of a wheat field, and capture it in full HD for you to use.

Enter the Ninja

With all the shooting I’ve been doing on the Canon 5D MkII lately, I’ve realized two things; first, that I like to shoot longer than five minutes at a time, and second, that I need a lot of hard drive space to get the footage in and out of the system.

I’ve used several HDD systems over the years, and I’m particularly fond of the CityDisk system for my Sony Z1U (yes, I’m still using that camera), but I need something that is not a FOCUS FireStore system.

I’ve just been made aware of the Ninja system from Atomos, and I think it may solve my problem.
